Our CSR Vision is to drive positive and sustainable change in communities and to improve the quality of people’s lives. We look to work on tangible social impact by mobilizing our assets and resources to best serve the community’s interests and ensure their development for the future. Our priority is to invest and kindle growth in areas that face socio-economic challenges through four E’s as key CSR pillars: Education, Empowerment, Engagement and Environment.

Supporting Communities

KUSOMA NI MUHIMU – (Learning is important)

Our Co-founder, Mr. Mihingo Mwangi, has been at the forefront of supporting education for less fortunate members within the community. It is through his initiative that Keitt started the program “KUSOMA NI MUHIMU,” a Kiswahili phrase meaning “education is important for every individual in society.” This program is based in Muranga County, one of the counties of Kenya’s former Central Province. We have a panel in some schools that identifies bright and needy students who are unable to pay their school fees. Through the “KUSOMA NI MUHIMU” program, we support these students. As a corporation, it is our core belief that education is a basic right for every individual

Empowering & Engaging the Community

Kenya is well known for its agricultural land, which has resulted in numerous opportunities in agronomy. Being in this industry, we believe it is our responsibility to engage and empower youth to maintain their interest in the field.

In 2017, we entered into an MoU with a well-known agri-education institute to provide internships to students interested in the horticulture industry. The aim is to sustain youth interest in this sector. Through this program, they gain practical education that can secure their future. By empowering them, we are extending their reach to empower others. Eventually, their community will be a better place for future generations.

Supporting Environment

Our responsibility to do something to keep the interest

At Keitt we are at the forefront of environmental conservation. We spearhead and engage in activities that aim to protect our planet and conserve its natural resources.

Our guiding principles for environmental conservation are geared towards sustaining our ecosystem and mitigating the effects climate change.

We achieve this through:

  • Preservation of riparian land, wetlands and rivers around our farms which ensures water bodies are preserved.
  • Encouraging agroforestry and planting of indigenous trees. Indigenous trees are well known for controlling soil erosion and supporting buildup of organic matter in the soil.
  • Discouraging deforestation and cutting down of trees.
